There are no flashy cheat abilities. There are no game-like status screens. Nevertheless, the protagonist's desperate struggle to survive in another world, and her growth as she builds bonds with others, is still moving even when read today.

Noriko Tatsuki, an ordinary high school girl, is suddenly caught up in an explosion one day. When she comes to, she is in an unknown world, not Japan. It was an isekai where she couldn't understand the language or culture.
The one who saved Noriko, who was in danger without knowing right from wrong, was the swordsman Isaac. Isaac is a young man with overwhelming combat abilities, but he carries a certain loneliness.
With his help, Noriko gradually learns how to survive in this world. However, this encounter was not a coincidence. Noriko is a special being called "Awakening".
And Isaac was a being called "Tenjoki", who would influence the fate of the world.
The moment their destinies intersect, a grand story that engulfs the entire world begins.
A Charm Different from Isekai Reincarnation Works

The reason I find myself rereading "Kono Yo no Hate de Koi wo Shite mo" again and again is its world-building.
There are many isekai works, but not many are as effective as this one at making you feel "that a truly different world exists." For example, the unique language, the cultures of each country, religious views, values of each ethnic group, geography, and history are all depicted with care.
Moreover, instead of lengthy explanations, the story is structured so that you naturally understand these elements as you read. As you progress through the story, it's a work that makes you feel as if you yourself are travelling in another world.
It's a Shojo Manga, but Not Just About Romance
At first glance, some might think this is a romance manga. Of course, the relationship between Noriko and Isaac is a major axis of the story. However, the appeal of this work is not just romance.

These are just some of the profound themes depicted. For this reason, it is a work that is highly regarded by male readers who do not usually read shojo manga.
As a side note... the first person to tell me that LaLa was going to be launched was a male otaku who loved manga (lol)
At first, I also thought, "Since it's a shojo manga, it'll probably be mainly romance," but before I knew it, I was completely absorbed in the world-building.
The Charm of "Kanata Kara" as Felt by a Manga Otaku
Among the many isekai manga, "Kanata Kara" holds a special place.
The reason for this is that the protagonist is not just a "heroine to be protected." Noriko can't do much at first. However, she gradually learns the language, learns how to interact with people, and searches for what she can do.
She doesn't fight with a sword. She can't use magic. Even so, her ability to change those around her with her kindness and proactivity is incredibly appealing.
Isaac, too, is an invincible warrior, but he harbours a deep loneliness in his heart. The process by which these two gradually build trust is perhaps the greatest highlight of this work.
Reasons Why It's Still Called a Masterpiece Today
What is the reason why "Kanata Kara" continues to be read, even more than 30 years after its serialization began?
I believe it is for the following three reasons.

Because it is a classic fantasy that is not swayed by trends, it feels fresh no matter when you read it.
2. Character Growth
Not only the protagonist, but all the characters grow throughout the story.
3. A Wonderful Feeling After Reading
There are sad moments, but it is a work that leaves you with a warm feeling after finishing it.
I feel it is a masterpiece that makes you honestly think, "I'm glad I read it."
"Kanata Kara" is a masterpiece of shojo manga that received high praise even before the isekai reincarnation boom, and the art style is incredibly cute.
